The records at the London auction houses show that in the early twentieth century, Cockburn’s Vintage Ports commanded the highest prices of any Port house. There you will have the unique opportunity to assist the coopers working real life on the barrels. This Wine Estate is mentioned for the first time in a document dated April 1738, where it is referred to as "the Pacheca" because it was owned by D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. However, it was only in 1903 that Dom José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to develop his interest in oenology, bought the property and began to devote to the winemaking business.

This Wine Estate is mentioned for the first time in a document dated April 1738, where it is referred to as "the Pacheca" because it was owned by D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. However, it was only in 1903 that Dom José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to develop his interest in oenology, bought the property and began to devote to the winemaking business.
You will be warmly received by the owner of the estate. Enjoy a private tour through the cellars, followed by lectured wine tasting. In this tour you’ll discover all about the wines from the city of Porto!
You will start the tour by doing a sightseeing tour from the port (located in Matosinhos) to the city center. After that, you'll visit the first winery with high quality of Douro wines for a Douro red and white wines tasting as an exclusive experience.
Then you'll visit a second Port Wine company (Real Companhia Velha) for another special Port Wine tasting. Real Companhia Velha is simply the oldest Port Wine company in Porto, established by a king in 1756. When this tour is finished you will return to Porto Pier.
