Abercrombie & Kent: Family Kenya & Tanzania Safari
Days 1-2 Nairobi, Kenya
Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to your hotel, where your
Child Activity Coordinator may greet you with “jambo”
(hello). The next day, meet remarkable African species in
two special settings. Visit the Giraffe Center to hand-feed
endangered Rothschild’s giraffes from a platform that puts
you at eye level with these majestic giants. At Sheldrick
Wildlife Trust, watch young elephants at play with keepers
who explain the process of reintroducing the elephants into
the wild. Proceed to Oloolua Forest for an A&K-exclusive
folklore experience, listening to a traditional storyteller
weave folk tales handed down for generations. Tonight, enjoy
a welcome dinner.

Days 3-4 Amboseli National ParkDepart for Amboseli National Park, famous for its big game
and views of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. After lunch at
your lodge and perhaps a lesson in spear throwing with your
Child Activity Coordinator, it’s time for a thrilling safari. Roll
out through acacia woodlands, freshwater marshes and open
plains in search of elephants, zebra and wildebeest. The next
day, discover more of this wildlife haven on additional game

Days 5-6 Ngorongoro Crater, TanzaniaDrive from Kenya into Tanzania, stopping in Arusha for
lunch. Then, fly to Manyara and transfer to your lodge,
perched on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. A UNESCO
World Heritage Site formed by the collapse of a volcano in
the distant past, Ngorongoro Crater is home to an incredible
concentration of wildlife, including one of the highest
densities of lions. Tonight, take in sweeping views from
your own private balcony. The next morning, descend into
the crater, arriving ahead of most visitors — thanks to the
ideal location of your accommodations on the crater’s rim
— to view the resident wildlife at its most active time of day.
Later, visit a Maasai village, where you meet with the village
elder and learn how to make the tribal community’s unique
beaded jewelry.

twice daily for the next two days), searching for giraffes,
hippos and hyenas. Look forward to a family-friendly
sundowner experience, sipping refreshing mocktails and
cocktails from a surprise scenic location. Back at camp,
your Child Activity Coordinator leads young guests on
bush treasure hunts and teaches the craft of fire making. A
Family Foodie Experience offers an opportunity to join your
chef and prepare regionally inspired dishes together. Later,
experience local life when you opt to visit with students at a
