The Merrion stands directly opposite Government Buildings in the heart of Dublin city center. On the doorstep is Upper Merrion Street, where Government Buildings, The National Gallery and The National Museum of Ireland are located. A short walk leads to the adjacent "golden mile" of lively pubs, shops and restaurants dotted around St. Stephen's Green. Grafton Street is a leisurely stroll away for all the latest designer shops. The Merrion's location is also surrounded by commerce and industry - business people coming to and from work as the city center bustles with action. Weekends in contrast are peaceful. Horse-drawn carriages clip-clop past the Georgian railings of nearby Merrion Square, which are hung with the work of local exhibiting artists.

From Dublin airport, ( DUB ) which is 8 miles from The Merrion, take the M1 Motorway southbound towards the City Centre. Once on Dorset Street, continue on straight to Bolton Street. Turn left onto Capel Street and continue on straight to the river. Turn left onto Ormond Quay and then take the next turn right, traveling over O’Connell Bridge onto D’Olier Street. Trinity College will be directly ahead. Bear right at the traffic lights, keeping the College on your left. Bear Left, to travel along Nassau Street in the direction of Merrion Square. Turn right onto Merrion Square West. The Merrion is situated at the top of Upper Merrion Street on the left hand side, beyond Government Buildings, which are on the right hand side.
